Problem Statement

Persons with disabilities have limited transportation options which compromises on accessibility, convenience, quality of care and caregivers' free time.

Solution

The Medical Escort Transportation Programme provides transport and medical escort services for persons with physical and/or intellectual disabilities through:

- Making the transportation process more accessible and convenient

- Train drivers to be medical escorts to ferry and accompany persons with disabilities on their medical appointments, note pertinent information shared by health professionals during these visits and relay such information to caregivers after appointments.

Outcomes

Programme team members have had longstanding history with TOUCH and even expertise in medical transportation:

1. Mr Chiam Soon Chian, overall Programme Team Lead, has more than 4 years of experience in coordinating transport for TOUCH, and has a certification in Project Management Professional.

2. Mr Robin Soo, the Vehicle Retrofitting Consultant, is the 4th generation owner of SCW Automotive Pte Ltd, which has provided retrofitting of emergency vehicles for more than 70 years.
